~Just A Little Reminder~ 🤗✨👌🏽

Hello person reading this! This here post is to just remind you to do whatever makes you happy when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Wear your favorite outfit, eat your favorite candy, do something nice for someone. I found that the best way for me to relax is to first remind myself that God has everything under control. Then I stretch, exercise, or put on a face mask. I usually do all three. If you start thinking about your problems too much, THEY WILL consume you! Soon, that’s all you’ll think about. Even though it’s very tempting to do that, DON’T! It’s always a very bad idea. The best thing you can do for yourself is to put your trust in God and do your part.

Just a little reminder. Thanks for reading! 😊❤️

~How To Achieve Your Goals~ 💫✅

Hello, person reading this! As you know, we just finished the first week of 2020, a new year with potential for a fresh start. I bet on New Years Eve, you made resolutions and set goals that you want to accomplish in the new year. Maybe you want to get more sleep. Maybe you want to start exercising. Maybe you just want to try to be a happier person. But are you going to actually make those goals and resolutions a reality? You should. I feel like so many of us make these unrealistic goals and resolutions to have done and accomplished by the end of the year, that we get so overwhelmed and just give up on the goal as a whole. If that’s you, I have a couple solutions.

#1. Take one goal/resolution and break it up into smaller parts~ I really like this tip because it’s kind of like making building blocks to achieve your goals. An example would be, let’s say, you want to be healthier. There’s so much that could go into that resolution. Do you want to be mentally and physically healthier, or just one or the other? If mentally, a small step you could take would be to start meditating. If physically, try reflecting on your eating habits. Take baby steps to get to your goals.

#2. Make a dream/goal board~ Making dream boards are really fun. Plus, they’re a good way of visualizing your goals so you can look at them and never forget them. To make a dream board, you’re gonna need some supplies. Some things you’ll need will be:

•A poster board of any size, depending on how many goals you have

  • Some magazines to cut pictures out of

  • A pair of scissors

  • Glue or tape

  • Markers, pens, or pencils

  • Glitter or glitter glue (optional)

Now that you have all of your supplies, start with a list of your goals. Then, look in the magazines that you have, and find some images or words that apply to said goals. Once you have them cut out, tape or glue them onto the poster board. After you do that, you can either decorate the poster with hand-drawn pictures, glitter, or write words next to the magazine images. When the board is done, hang it up somewhere you can easily see it. That way, you’ll always being able to visualize your goals without having to always imagine them.

#3. Make a time for your goals~ this part of goal-accomplishing is probably the hardest because you’re going to be re-evaluating the way you spend your time. This is also the most important part. You can plan all you want and still not get anywhere. Do you know why you’re not getting anywhere? Because you’re not acting on those plans. Or, you’re not making enough time to act on those plans. Which is why you need to make a schedule. You know that extra hour you spend mindlessly scrolling through Tik Tok? Guess what, that’s workout time now! In order to accomplish anything, you have to make sacrifices! And that’s exactly what you’re gonna do.

Okay, I think that’s all of the knowledge I can crank out for today. I really hope this advice will help you reach your dreams. Happy New Year 2020, & thanks for reading. 😊❤️

~Update On My Life~👌🏽✅

Hello person reading this! And welcome back to my blog. As you know, school started about a month and a half ago. I’m a high school student, so I’ve been extremely busy with homework, projects, & tests to study for. On top of that, I’ve been working on paintings to sell at a craft show I’m going to be in, so I haven’t had much time to put together a well thought out and put together post. So I just thought that I’d share what I’ve recently been up to these days.

First of all, Houston weather has been going nuts for the past couple of days. Literally the other day, it was 90 degrees and humid. I kid you not, the next day a cold front decided to show up and bring clouds and wind and 50 to 60 degree weather. Great, now I have a bad cough because Houston decided to be all crazy. The forecast for next week is looking like a roller coaster right now. The whole week is popcorn reading between the winter and summer chapters in the book of Mother Nature. My prediction is that half of the students at my school will be out sick by Tuesday.

Also though, has it felt like Fall to anyone else? Because, I’m not getting those vibes. Like, I want to feel like it’s Fall, not physically because, again, it’s cold, but, I’m not in the Fall mood, you know? Yes it’s cold as heck in Houston right now, but it might as well still be Summertime. I don’t know if it’s because I’m so focused on school, or if I’m wanting the fall vibes so badly that I’m not just letting it come to me. I need to make an Autumn Vibes playlist, maybe that would help. I even redecorated my whole room! NOTHING HELPS! I don’t get it.

Well, that’s kind of all I have to talk about right now. Stay tuned for my next post. Thanks for reading! 😊❤️

~Style On A Budget ~

Hello, person reading this. As you know, it’s August, back to school season, which also means back to school shopping. Buying shoes and clothes to last a whole year can be expensive, which is why I wanted to give you some shopping advice.

First of all, here is a list of stores that keep up with trends and your budget:

  • Target: Target has cute clothes for prices that fit the teen budget. They know what their customers want and they have everything from boots to button down shirts.
  • Marshalls: They have great deals and if you look hard enough, you will definitely find clothes you’ll want to keep around for a while.
  • TJ Maxx: It’s very similar to Marshalls
  • Forever 21: Trendy & cheap (a nice combo if you ask me). Do I need to say more?
  • Ross: Also similar to TJ Maxx and Marshalls

In addition to that list, here’s more shopping tips:

#1. Buy your clothes a size up. Buying clothes that are a size bigger is a fine choice because you don’t have to buy that item of clothing for another year or so. This is a little more directed to cold weather clothing because no one can really tell that the winter coat you’re wearing is a tad loose-fitting.

#2. Coupons & Clearance Sections. Use those coupons, take those sales seriously, & there’s nothing wrong with poking around in the clearance section for a few items.

#3. Buy clothes for one semester. This is a really smart idea because it cuts your cost of clothing in half, & since the weather changes in the second semester, you won’t have too much to get rid of.

#4. Sell old clothes. It’s always a fantastic idea to donate because others can enjoy your gently used items, plus it adds closet space. But you know what’s even better than donating clothes? Selling them for extra money! (This piece of advice is also kind of a follow up to the last piece of advice). If you have any clothes that won’t / can’t be worn in the future, sell them to buy clothes for the next semester. One good place to sell clothes to is Plato’s Closet. You can sell your clothes, shoes, & accessories, while shopping for new additions to your closet.

Okay, I’ve covered everything I can think of. I genuinely hope this helped you in any way. But please remember: you shouldn’t feel pressured to look a certain way. Wear whatever YOU feel confident in (as long as you’re not breaking any dress code rules). How much you spent on an outfit does not define who you are. Happy back to school season & thanks for reading!
